Healthy Times Fun club recently held a benefit show for Milo, a 2 year old with a genetic liver defect that inhibits the processing of protein. He's coming to Seattle for a transplant. The recovery time will be several months and his family will need to find housing and money for food while they are here. Oregon Health Plan takes care of Milo, but his parents will not be working and will have various expenses while this is all happening. The benefit at healthy times on Saturday March 22nd went really well, raising almost 400 dollars for Milo but his family could still use a lot more money and support. If you did not get a chance to donate and would like to please access the paypal account under btsy.b@hotmail.com !

Here's some info: The RRFM movement is a non-hierarchical collective of individuals who form a temporary market based on an alternative gift economy. The RRFM movement aims to counteract capitalism in a non-reactionary way. It holds as a major goal to build a community based on sharing resources, caring for one another and improving the collective lives of all. Markets often vary in character, but they generally offer both goods and services. Participants bring unneeded items, food, skills and talents such as entertainment or haircuts. A RRFM may take place in an open community space such as a public park or community commons. For more, go to

As many of you know, the Zine Archive and Publishing Project has fallen under hard times in the past few months. In September, Richard Hugo House decided to put the zine archive on hiatus for an indefinite period, citing organizational problems and a lack of volunteer commitment as reasons for closing the library. This decision was made without the input of ZAPP volunteers, and after the closure many were left wondering about the future of the archive. Since then, the Hugo House has promised to oversee the formation of a committee to reopen the zine archive and to reimagine its direction and purpose within the Hugo House structure. However, this committee has yet to meet, the budget for the archive has been cut, and the library has been moved out of the basement despite the protests of volunteers. In light of these many setbacks and disappointments, a group of former ZAPP volunteers has bound together. We are working to reopen the zine archive and restore its status as an invaluable community resource. If you are interested in joining the ongoing efforts to save ZAPP, please contact savezapp@gmail.com
